Overview

History of Comfort Counseling Services

Founded in 1994 in Nairobi, Kenya, Comfort Counseling Services began its mission to provide comprehensive counseling support to diverse communities. Over the years, it has expanded its reach and is now located in Kitale, Kenya. The organization has offered adjunct counseling to several key institutions including the Crisis Pregnancy Institute [USA], Nairobi Hospital, Nairobi Baptist Church, Redeemed Gospel Church, Daystar University, Mt. Kenya University, Maseno University, International Christian Ministries, Handicap International, several local and international orphanages, Kenya Police services, several colleges and secondary schools.
As the organization grew, it extended its services internationally, offering professional counseling and consultancy to clients across the United States of America, Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and the Middle East. Through its dedicated efforts, Comfort Counseling Services has established a strong presence in both local and global communities, consistently striving to meet the mental health needs of individuals and organizations.
 

Since its inception in 1994, Comfort Counseling Services has been a beacon of mental health support for our clients in Kenya and around the globe. Initially established to cater to local communities, it quickly garnered recognition and began serving a diverse clientele, including local and international civil society organizations. Through partnerships and collaborations, Comfort Counseling Services has been instrumental in addressing mental health challenges within these organizations, offering counseling, training and support programs tailored to their unique needs.

Dr Ruth Imbuye

Founder Comfort Counseling Services {1994 to date}

Dr. Ruth is an experienced professional counsellor with a strong academic background and extensive
experience in counselling, supervision, training and international consultancy. She has been
instrumental in providing multicultural counselling to individuals, couples and families. As a lecturer
she has taught in both private and public institutions up to postgraduate level and has been a key
person in creating counselling curriculums in various institutions.
